I've been working on this collection of sounds during the pandemic, reflecting on what being isolated at home with colorful ideas, menacing synths, and purple haze feels and sounds like. I wanted to make music to feel confident to, music to serve looks to, and music inspired by missing the city, the clubs, people, all while at home (again) feeling sometimes very alone but also very ALIVE.

I asked my YouTube subscribers what Selena song they wanted me to remix next – AND THE WINNER IS… CAPTIVE HEART! I wanted to create a 100% original music track and approach the vocals as a complete song. I wanted to bring Selena into a different space- cosmic, fashion, electronic, gritty, and sultry.
I present to you my remix of CAPTIVE HEART.
While creating this remix, I was inspired by Selena's cover of A Boy Like That, imagined an orchestra in space, thinking about living in the city, imaging what Selena would sound like performing on a fashion runway. Oh yeah, I would suggest quality earphones for the best listening experience.
This remix is taken from my first remix EP 'Starpulse Twentyone', which will be released 2/29/2021. I'm SOOO excited to share this project with you all! Selena - I Could Fall In Love - Piano Tribute
1994 was a huge shift for Selena's career, as she and her team began preparation for her English language cross over album, which would be posthumously released after her death in 1995. Up until that point, most of Selena Y Los Dino's songs were written for the group by the group's band members. As Selena's team prepared English songs, Selena began to work with other songwriters to give her sound a more diverse reach.
This song in particular, "I Could Fall In Love" stands out among the songs recorded for 'Dreaming of You'. When I first heard this song, I was just a kid but I was immediately blown away by how beautiful this song and rich the song is. The moment the cassette tape ran through my boom box, I was moved. Every time I hear this song, it overwhelms me realizing just how lucky we are to have this recording. I wanted to highlight Selena's vocals and the gorgeous songwriting in this timeless song.
I recorded the minimal piano arrangement and will eventually add strings, etc, but for now, I hope you enjoy my tribute to Selena with this version of "I Could Fall In Love". It’s amazing seeing them all the time and, in the old world, before Rona’s Reign, I loved seeing these two turn looks on any given night of the week. Mariah + Pj Morton Duet - All I Want For Christmas Is You
Instrumental + Smooth Groover Provided by PJ Mortons (Steam his version of All I Want For Christmas is You now: open.spotify.com/track/3xpTPCwZ2G…5BTuK5fDAQCWp1Xw) and Vocals by the One and Only, Queen of Christmas herself, Mariah Carey. I stripped both songs first and got the instrumental of PJ Morton, then tuned both song almost equally until they matched up in key. I used multiple sources for Mariah's vocals, including an extended version for the end, album version for the intro, and the So So Def Remix for the middle. I hope you enjoy!
